I got an old Marlin model 60 when I was a kid that I ran a ka-jillion rounds through. Many a rabbit and squirrel and a couple frogs fell to that rifle. What was your first rifle?

I still have it and it was a JC Higgins from SEARS Roebuck .22LR repeater, tubular feed. I still have my original 4X scope on it and it is so tiny I'm surprised I could see through it. I too shot a bazillion rounds through it.

Do you guys remember the old Remington Nylon 66? I still have one of those .22LR's but it's been shot so much sometimes it repeats. That was my old trapping gun as a kid. Semi-auto tube feed through the stock. I killed a ton of muskrat and other creatures with that gun.

I used to waste a lot of shells with it but it sure was fun to shoot. It was my favorite on the run cottontail gun.

He used his for cotton tails, too. But he did it from the heat if a car after there was snow on the ground and shot them in the head. That was 20 years ago, I'd guess.

My first rifle was a Ruger Mini-14 with 40rd mags in the good old days of the early 1990's before all this CADOJ ban BS.

My first rifle was an old Springfield .30-06. Still have it and it's my primary deer gun.

Didn't grow up with guns but my first rifle was the one I bought myself at eighteen, a winchester 94 .30-.30. I wish I still had it!

My first was an Anschutz clip fed .22lr my grandfather bought in Germany in.......1960 something. It remained unfired until I shot it in the early 80's. Now it's sitting in grease in my safe. I might take it out and shoot it this year, but it has a ton of sentimental value, so I don't wanna ding it up. As it sits now, it's perfect.

Mossberg single shot .22 rifle. Got it for my 10th birthday and I still have it. It was used when I got it but it's still a tack driver. Now, my grandkids are shooting it when they come up for a visit. I believe the gun was made in 1948.

Hunting 365 days a year...in my mind Group: Predator Hunters Posts: 716 Joined: 19-December 06 From: Elk Grove Member No.: 215 |
My first rifle was a Browning BAR in 30-06. Low recoil and a very nice rifle. Picked up some bad habits with a semi-auto though. If I got off 1 round I'd most likely get off all 5. Not a lot a aiming going on.
