Just curious to know how many of you all out there have served or are currently serving in the military. If you have served post your branch of service and time when you served. If you are currently serving just post when you started and end with AD.
I for one served in the Marine Corps from 1989 to 1997. Sure do miss those times a great deal but I had to do what was best for me at the time, any regrets?? Only when I think of the good times.. But, one close look at my current pay as oppose to the E-6 pay I was getting and the regrets fade away.. In all seriousness I do miss it and just wanted to Thank all you guys that currently serve for continuing to protect our freedoms. I know the deployment strains all too well, good luck to you all and please post any info or comments you care to share. Deadeye. |

I miss those times as well! Lots of close friends that I still keep in touch with today. I don't regret getting out one bit. I'm making more money than I would had I stayed in. |

U.S. Army '71-'73. Nuclear weapons. Looking back, the "bonds of friendship and camaraderie" seem unparalleled and I was taught some much needed self discipline.

I had an all expense paid, one year vacation in Vietnam from 1968-1969 while working for Uncle Sam in the Army. No regrets! Frank |

USAF '59-'63 Cryptographics Tech. Still in communications after all these years with my room-mate from my year in Northern Canada (http://www.pinetreeline.org) at Armstrong, Ontario. He came to Nevada afew years back for a convention, and we got to have lunch. Hadnt seen each other in +40 years. Here is a pix of the two of us, taken that day. I am on the right. He lived in Fla. then, and I in NV.

I too miss some of it. The Air Force Core Values says it all: Integrity first, Service before self, and Excellence in all we do. Thanks to all who have served and are currently serving. |
