Tomorrow "Monday" morning about 4 am I'll be heading to the place I love to be, Nevada. My wife and I are heading to Tuscarora then back down to Kingston canyon. Though I don't hunt coyotes this time of the year my new 204 well be in the truck with me along with a hand call and a howler, just in case I change my mind. :) Be seeing you all in a few days.

Sorry I missed you before you left, Danny... My computer has been down for about the last 2 days.

Anyway, hope you have a safe and fun time in Nevada. I know you will... AND, hey, we sometimes have to be flexible & make exceptions / break (our own) rules, so hope you went for it on those yotes, my friend. Let us know if you did & if a 204 really can kill a yote. LOL

AND, when did you get that 204?? Now you are killing me. LOL I've been agonizing over one for a little while now. One of my partners has one, & from what little I've seen it looks like a real winner. Congrats on the purhcase.

Talk to you when you return
Frank

Didn't even see a coyote, lucky for the coyote. I drove from home to Ely the first day, then Elko, Tuscarora, Carlin, Eureka, Kingston, Tonopah, Warm Springs, Rachel, Caliente the next day and then home lol.

One thing I saw I didn't like was when we went to Tuscarora, seems the gold mine closed down and the old town was taken over by hippies, artist and lesbians.
I couldn't believe my eyes in Elko, they now have WalMart, K-Mart and lots of fancy restaurants, a giant casino I can't afford to go into and about 30,000 yuppies. What's happening to Nevada?

A bad note. On the way to Ely monday night we saw a jeep that had just turned over. it was dark, we started looking for injured people. We did find 1 guy in real bad shape, a lady also stopped to help, she stayed at the seen. We put blankets over the guy and went to find help. About 5 miles down the road we found a phone, we told the EMT the guy was at mile marker 4 on the Utah side of the border, they said it would be about 20 minutes.
My wife was all shook up, the guys legs were broken and his face was all bloody, but he was not dead. I told my wife she did all she could do in a case like that. I told her it happens all the time out there in the middle of nowhere. Other then that she had a good trip.
I got that H&R 204 only because it cost me $300, if I don't like the thing it's not a big loss. I can always sell it to Frank lol.

Even a K-Mart! yikes.gif Those things are a dieing breed. Martha Stewart put them almost out of business. We used to have 7 of them in Sacramento, now we have none.

Glad you had a good trip for the most part onecoyote and that you & your wife made it back safely. That accident was something else.... And you're probably correct about your 204 :)

Danny,
I am not surprised you didn't see any or many coyotes especially going through Ely. They have gunned and snared, trapped that area steady for the past few years and you are hard pressed to even cut a track there anymore. I used to have good calling there before and the ranchers tell me they are lucky to hear a coyote now. I called in a double the last time I was there outside of McGill and got one of the two so that left one coyote I know of . LOL Hope another male coyote shows up to service her and maybe I can have a few youngsters to shoot at.
Wal-Mart wanted to put in a store in Ely but the town said "NO" I am grateful for that as it would wipe out the small buiseness in that town. If I think I need to go to Stuff-mart I can travel the 4 hours it takes to get to one.
On another note. Isn't it great that the Kalifornians are taking over everywhere you go anymore. My great state is going to just be a memory to me in a few years as they come here by the thousands each month and bring their lifestyle with them. I wont be able to settle a dispute mano-e-mano out in the brush anymore without getting sued by some left wing liberal idiot who's feelings I have hurt. I guess I will just have to show them some mine airshafts I know.Ha Ha. Just kidding, but, really I know a lot of airshaft holes. LOL..Walt

Danny,

Wrecks like that can be real eye openers. I saw one on the 14 not too long ago that made me a believer in seat belts.
