I just got home and my fiance got me a jack in the box for valentines day. I am pumped about going to try it out, but I set it up and I think teh critter part is a tad too heavy for the rod section. Anybody else have this problem, and if so, what did you do? I am thinking of trimming the fur to lighten it up a tad???

Give it a try first. Just make sure the rod is straight and at a right angle to the ground when you set it up. It does bounce around a bit, but I think that is part of its charm. The built in squeaker is handy too when you mute the Foxpro. The batteries last forever unlike the Whirling Woodpecker.

Matt I love my decoy more that Jesery boi loves his bobcat. The wire does allow the thing to bounce more. I have nothing bad to say about my decoy.

I don't own mine any more, but I thought the same as you the first time I used it. It works just fine and I don't think you could take enough weight off with a hair cut to make any difference.

Thanks guys for teh input. I will be going out in the morning to try it out with the scorpion and my new CZ. I will just run it like it is and see what transpires. I agree with you Heath, I think I could only remove a few ounces, but it would still flail around, but maybe that's what it's meant to do like Steve said.

The maiden voyage produced no takers. The decoy works awesome, and I love it with the scorpion and all the features I can use when using them both. I am laying off for a while now, but my brother and I are doing that Barry Fifer Memorial Hunt in AZ at the end of March. I will give you all the low down on what happens out there. My brother has taken 3 cats in the last week so we have a good little honey hole for the kitties.

Sorry to hear you didn't get any takers. Fantastic for your brother! Sounds like you've got a real sweet bobcat honey hole.

Good luck on that hunt. You doing the Antelope Eaters hunt, too?

Thanks CF! No we are not doing the Antelope Eater's hunt. I haven't even heard of that one yet. We decided to do a hunt this year to just check it all out. If we have a good time we will do more next season for sure.
