How to question for CoyoteHuntress

Seeing as there is a good chance I could get myself a buck in velvet, I need to pose this question. How the heck do you preserve the velvet? Or should I just take the skull cap to a taxidermist?

I'm doing a small batch of skulls now (squirrel, skunk, possum) with the maceration method. My question is, what's the best way to pull ALL the grease out of these things before I whiten them in peroxide? I'm still new to this skull cleaning thing. Thanks.

Gary's Old Coyote in with the Beetles

I finally got my beetle colony built back up to where they were able to eat a hot dog in 24 hours. So I finally dug this stinky 'ol coyote of Gary;s out of the freezer and got him ready to go in with the beetles. When I turned on the light to take the picture they all started to scatter but you can see a few of them still working here. Hopefully by Monday they will be done.
