Anyone tie flys and need Wood Duck flank feathers?

I enjoy reading through this forum and get quite a bit out of it. So I want to give a bit back to others.

If you tie flys and need some wood duck flank feathers shoot me an email. I'm an avid duck hunter and have pulled about four birds worth. They are just sitting in my garage and need a better home than I have time to give them. The fly's I tie lately are hair wing or some variant thereof.

The catch?
It would be nice if you had 20 or so posts.
However
If you have a junior hunter/fisherman/outdoors person you are helping along then you just went to the front of the list.

Experience is a great teacher but the one thing that always helped me along was someone else that was free with their time, equipment, or knowledge.

If these get taken and there is more interest I'll collect any more we get. Not many frequent the club but a few a year wander through and all any of us do is eat them. None get saved for mounts.

lkp1@yahoo.com

Enjoy,
Lane

West Nile Virus

We received a letter today from the county that WNV has been reported within a half mile from our home.

I called the country, conce, red and they told me it was a human case, that's all they'd tell me.
They also said not to worry and keep our yard free of standing water, which we already do, in addition to the other standard precautions.

Anyone here have experience with this? I just wondered if I was getting an honest opinion, or spin.

Dear Oprah

Dear Oprah -

What a sad day in history. How could everyone get it wrong by voting in a Black, Muslim, Socialist!!! How could they be so misinformed about this non-American. I truly believe because of all of your influence the people in America (a free country for how long I don't know) did not research this man's background or really listen to his rhetoric. Did you hear that people believed that Sarah Palin was his running mate? Did you hear that people believe that Barack Hussein is going to pay their mortgage, gas, medical? Are you really and truly happy this man is going to lead our country for the next four years? Are you truly happy that we are moving towards marxism? Are you truly happy that the woman who is to be the "First Lady" was not happy being an American until her husband decided to run for President? I know you probably couldn't care less about my republican opinion. I also know you don't have to worry about your money situation, but believe you me, we do. We can barely make ends meet as it is. Keep praying that the next four years don't hurt this country as bad as what his campaign promises state. Keep praying that all small businesses (including ours) can stay in business with all that he wants "to do for us".

Regs in San Jacinto

I'm doing a job on some property that is several acres and has a problem with ground squirrels. I did a search on the San Jacinto Municipal code website for "pellet" and for "fire arm" and found nothing. I also read through the TOC and a few of the chapters and found nothing relating to fire arms in general or pellet guns specifically.

That's just to good to be true.

Can anyone steer me straight?

Thanks,

Life is too short.

I doubt that any here will remember me. I joined back when the site had only been up a month or two IIRC. Life got hectic, I blew up a couple of computers and lost links. The guns set in the safe and collected dust. Our business went belly up the first of the year and life has changed drastically. Though their is no money, the change has definitely been for the better. I still, however, hadn't shot much in the last year. That changed Sunday night.

I paid my hunting tax and bought my tags this year on the promise from a friend that he had some property to hunt. Sunday night, we were home sick instead of at church like we would normally have been. As we sat down to eat, my wife said she saw some deer up the hill, and THOUGHT she saw horns. That was all it took. I ran out into the gravel barefoot, and sure enough, there were four bucks. One had half a rack and i couldn't tell if it had forked. One was a small forky, another a nice sized 3 pointer (though the rack was thin) and a nice 4 pointer. The 4 pointer was standing in front of the propane tank, so, being the genious that I am, i passed on him. Below are the pics of the 3 point. In one shot it's me w/ my Grandson. in one, me w/ my son, and in the last, 4 generations of our family skinning my first buck. it was a joyous night. :-)

Not exactly how i pictured my first deer hunt, but I had that with my first bear. :-)
